The Duffer brothers, who created the phenomenon known as "Stranger Things" in the world of television, are taking on a new horror project for Netflix.

The series, titled "Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen", invites viewers into a tense atmosphere.

Script and Creative Team

The series will be written by Haley Z. Boston, whom we know from successful projects such as "Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities" and "Brand New Cherry Flavor". Matt and Ross Duffer will serve as executive producers on the project.

What Is the Series About?

According to the series’ official synopsis, the events take place in the lead-up to a wedding. The terrifying events and atmosphere of mystery and tension that unfold during the week a bride and groom prepare for their wedding form the foundation of the story. As its title suggests, viewers will get the sense from the very first minute that "something very bad" is going to happen.

A New Collaboration with Netflix

Following the final season of "Stranger Things", the Duffer brothers are expanding their collaboration with Netflix even further through this new project. Netflix representatives praised Haley Z. Boston’s screenwriting abilities and noted that the series will make an impact within the genre.

The leading roles will be played by Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & the Six) and Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus). The cast will also include Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine, and Sawyer Fraser.

The series will be directed by Weronika Tofilska, Axelle Carolyn, and Lisa Brühlmann.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen will premiere on Netflix on March 26, 2026.
